Xbox's Achievements update lets players hide games and show off completions
Microsoft is rolling out a set of long-requested updates to Xbox Achievements, including the ability to hide games from your profile, a visual overhaul of unlock notifications, and a new way to showcase 100% completed titles. The changes are currently live for select Xbox Insiders and will roll out more broadly in the coming weeks. The hide feature itself arrives later in April.

The headline addition is straightforward—you'll be able to remove any game from your public achievements list. It won't affect your Gamerscore total , but it does let you clean up a profile cluttered by dozens of Game Pass trials you played for 20 minutes and abandoned. This has been one of the most requested features from the Xbox Insider community for years. Xbox is also giving achievement pop-ups a fresh coat of paintAchievement notifications are getting redesigned icons and animations, and they'll now match your custom Xbox colour. Rare achievements get their own distinct pop-up marked with a diamond icon, which is a nice touch for completionists who want that extra bit of recognition. Games where you've unlocked every achievement will also be highlighted in your list, with new filter options to surface them quickly.
Xbox isn't fundamentally rethinking the achievement system it pioneered back in the 360 era, but these quality-of-life tweaks signal that new Microsoft Gaming CEO Asha Sharma is following through on her promise to address fan feedback. Sharma, who replaced Phil Spencer in February, said she's stood up a dedicated team focused on community requests—and called these changes just the beginning.
