As Iran War Jolts Pakistan's Economy, India Acts as Key Stabiliser for Neighbours

As Pakistan struggles with rising inflation and soaring fuel prices amid the Iran conflict, India steps in to support its neighbors. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed continued energy supplies to Bangladesh since 2007, a recent 38,000 metric tonnes delivery to Sri Lanka, and ongoing engagement with Nepal and Bhutan. The Maldives has also requested both short- and long-term petroleum assistance, which India is assessing carefully while managing its own domestic requirements. These efforts underscore India’s role as a regional stabilizer, ensuring energy security for neighboring countries even as global oil disruptions and domestic pressures challenge the region.
