‘Asked Me To Pay Rs 5 Crore’: Ex-Cricketer Makes Shocking Claim On TMC After Bengal Polls
Former India cricketer and outgoing Trinamool Congress MLA Manoj Tiwary has alleged that he was denied a ticket from Howrah’s Shibpur constituency after refusing to pay ₹5 crore, saying his association with the party has now ended. He claimed that several candidates allegedly paid large amounts to secure tickets in the recent elections. Tiwary, who previously served as minister of state for sports in the Mamata Banerjee-led government, said he was not surprised by the election outcome and criticized the party over alleged corruption and lack of internal democracy. He added that despite his efforts to address local civic issues, he did not receive adequate support from the leadership.
