Austria’s Chancellor Calls India Key Partner, Pushes India-EU Trade Deal Amid Global Turmoil

Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker has described India as a key strategic partner whose voice holds growing influence in global affairs. At a time of geopolitical upheaval, he emphasised the importance of stable and trusted partnerships, calling India a pillar of such cooperation. Stocker reiterated that both India and Austria back a rules-based international order and believe that conflicts must be resolved through dialogue, not force. Crucially, he called the India-EU Free Trade Agreement essential, stating it would boost trade, investments, and industrial cooperation amid global uncertainty.
