'Condemnable': PM Modi Dials Jordan's King, Slams Attacks On Energy Infra In West Asia
Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned attacks on energy infrastructure in West Asia in a telephonic conversation with Jordan’s King Abdullah II. He highlighted the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace, security, and stability amid rising regional tensions. Speaking during the Strait of Hormuz crisis, PM Modi stressed that India and Jordan support unhindered transit of goods and energy, warning that attacks on energy infrastructure could escalate the conflict. The remarks follow Israel’s strike on the South Pars gas field and Iran’s retaliatory strikes on energy assets in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, and Kuwait. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal called the attacks deeply disturbing and unacceptable, emphasizing the need to protect civilian energy facilities and ensure global energy stability.
