Cong, TMC, DMK Guilty', PM Modi Blasts Oppn For Blocking Women Reservation Bill
Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly criticised opposition parties over the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill, alleging that their rejection of the legislation amounted to denying greater political representation to their own states. He said states like Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and others could have gained additional seats and stronger voices in Parliament had the bill been passed. Modi accused parties including DMK, TMC, and SP of engaging in “selfish politics” and blocking a historic opportunity for women’s empowerment. He further targeted the Samajwadi Party, claiming it had deviated from the ideals of Ram Manohar Lohia by opposing the measure meant to strengthen women’s participation in politics.
