DMK Hits Out As Congress Directs TNCC To Take Final Call On Vijay's Support Request

The DMK has hit out at the Congress over reports of post-poll discussions with TVK in Tamil Nadu. DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai said the Congress’ 5-seat win in the election was possible due to DMK’s support and also referred to past backing for Rahul Gandhi by Chief Minister MK Stalin during political criticism. The statement came after Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K. C. Venugopal said TVK chief Vijay had approached the party seeking support to form a government in Tamil Nadu. He added that Congress considers the mandate as one for a secular government and has asked the TNCC to take a final decision on the request based on the electoral outcome.
