'If Chanakya Were Alive...': Priyanka Gandhi's Swipe At Amit Shah Over Delimitation, Women Quota

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, speaking in the Lok Sabha on the Women’s Reservation Bill and delimitation debate, highlighted the Congress party’s long-standing role in advancing women’s reservation in India. She referred to the 33 per cent reservation in panchayats and municipalities introduced during the Rajiv Gandhi era and traced the historical roots to Motilal Nehru’s 1928 report and the 1931 Karachi Congress resolution on equal rights. She also cited the 2010 UPA government’s attempt under Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi’s 2018 letter to the Prime Minister seeking timely implementation. Vadra said Congress has consistently supported women’s reservation and reaffirmed its commitment to the legislation.
