India, Korea Discuss Global Tensions, Stress Peace, Security And Stronger Multilateral Cooperation

India and South Korea have reinforced their commitment to strengthening global peace and security amid rising geopolitical tensions. MEA Secretary (East) P Kumaran said discussions covered conflicts in Ukraine, Russia, and the Gulf, with both sides agreeing on the need for deeper cooperation and stronger multilateral frameworks. South Korea recognised India’s growing influence as a leading voice of the Global South and a key partner in shaping broader global positions. The Korean side also appreciated India’s consistent support for the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula. Talks further touched on nonproliferation and the importance of preventing sensitive technologies from falling into the hands of non-state actors and sanctioned groups.
