India Urges UN Reform Amid Iran War, Seeks BRICS Unity As Conflict Divides Members

The discussions covered India-EU relations, global challenges, and the ongoing West Asia conflict, including its impact on energy security. Jaiswal highlighted India’s BRICS presidency and continued engagement with all stakeholders despite differing positions among members. Talks are ongoing with Iran regarding ships in the Strait of Hormuz and humanitarian assistance. He emphasized the need for dialogue, restraint, and diplomatic channels to resolve conflicts. Jaiswal also reiterated India’s long-standing call for United Nations reform, stressing that timely reforms will benefit global governance, peace, and cooperation among nations.
