MEA Receives Consular Access Request After Arrest Of Six Ukrainians By NIA

India’s Ministry of External Affairs confirmed it has received a consular access request from Kyiv after the National Investigation Agency arrested six Ukrainian nationals and one US citizen. The accused are alleged to have links with banned Indian insurgent groups, supplying weapons, terrorist hardware, and training. They are also suspected of supporting ethnic armed groups in Myanmar with similar assistance. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the case is under investigation and is being handled as per Indian laws and international obligations. He added that the consular access request will be considered in line with legal procedures, as authorities continue to probe the extent of the alleged network and activities.
