MEA Slams China’s 'Mischievous Attempts', Rejects Fictitious Names to Arunachal Pradesh Locations

India on Sunday issued a strong response to reports that China is assigning fictitious names to locations in Indian territory, warning that such actions could impact ongoing efforts to stabilise and normalise bilateral ties. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India “categorically rejects” these attempts, describing them as mischievous and baseless. He stressed that renaming places does not alter the ground reality and reaffirmed India’s firm commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity. India also urged China to avoid actions that could create further friction and instead focus on maintaining peace and stability along the Line of Actual Control.
