Modi Govt's Women Quota Bill Crashes In Lok Sabha, Fails 2/3 Majority Test
The Lok Sabha rejected a bill aimed at fast-tracking women’s reservation and delimitation without a fresh Census. Of 528 members voting, 298 supported and 230 opposed, falling short of the required two-thirds majority. Following the defeat, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju requested that two related bills, including the Delimitation Bill 2026, not be taken up in the House. Watch
