'No Locus Standi To Comment': India Rejects Pakistan's Remarks On Asiya Andrabi's Life Sentence
India has rejected Pakistan’s criticism of the life sentence given to Kashmiri separatist Asiya Andrabi. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Pakistan has no authority to comment on India’s judicial processes and accused it of supporting terrorism while ignoring its own human rights violations. Andrabi, founder of the banned Dukhtaran-e-Millat, was sentenced under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for waging war against India, sedition, and terror conspiracy. Her associates, Sofi Fehmeeda and Nahida Nasreen, were handed 30-year prison terms. The NIA highlighted that the strict punishment was justified due to Andrabi’s role in inciting violence and rebellion in Kashmir, with her organisation allegedly linked to Pakistan-based terrorist groups promoting separatism.
