'Only PM Modi Can...': Ex-US Army Col Ridicules Pak's Mediation Push In Iran War, Pitches India
Retired US Army colonel and geopolitical expert Douglas Macgregor has criticized Pakistan’s attempt to mediate in the Iran conflict, calling it “ludicrous nonsense” and questioning its credibility. Speaking to ANI, he cited Pakistan’s internal instability and economic challenges, saying it is unlikely to serve as a neutral broker. Macgregor added that Israel would likely view Pakistan as part of the problem, making negotiations in Islamabad unrealistic. He suggested that India could play a more effective role, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong global standing and relationships with leaders including Vladimir Putin, Iran, and Israel. Macgregor also noted that former US President Donald Trump would be more inclined to engage with New Delhi’s efforts. His remarks come as the US-Israel-Iran conflict intensifies in its fourth week.
