PM Modi Discusses West Asia Crisis, Secure Shipping Routes With Iran President

Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation with Masoud Pezeshkian, extending greetings on Eid and Nowruz while discussing the evolving situation in West Asia. Modi expressed hope that the festive season would usher in peace, stability and prosperity in the region amid rising tensions. He also voiced concern over recent attacks on critical infrastructure, warning that such incidents could destabilise the region and disrupt global supply chains. Emphasising the importance of secure trade routes, the Prime Minister reiterated the need to safeguard freedom of navigation and ensure that vital shipping lanes remain open and secure for global commerce.
