PM Modi To Chair Key Security Meet To Review West Asia Situation Amid Energy, Supply Chain Concerns

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead an extended Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting today at 7 pm to evaluate the ongoing West Asia crisis and its potential impact on India’s energy security, supply chains, and overall economy. The session follows a March 22 review that examined essential commodities, fertiliser stocks, coal inventories, and uninterrupted electricity supply. Key ministers including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S. Jaishankar, along with officials from critical sectors, will participate. Discussions will cover diversifying imports, alternative export markets, and safeguarding supply chains, with Modi urging a coordinated government approach to prevent hoarding and manage price stability.
