Swami Vivekananda’s First-Ever Life-Size Statue Unveiled In Seattle, US
Seattle has become the first city in the United States to install a life-size statue of Swami Vivekananda at Westlake Square in downtown. The bronze statue was unveiled jointly by Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson and Indian Consul General in Seattle Prakash Gupta. The Indian consulate said the installation is the first of its kind hosted by a city government in the US and marks an important cultural milestone. The event saw participation from several city mayors, officials, and members of the Indian-American community across the region. Gifted by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations, the monument reflects efforts to enhance cultural diplomacy and strengthen ties between India and the US Pacific Northwest.
