Village Playgrounds To Mega Stadiums: Yogi Adityanath Outlines UP Sports Vision

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the Times of India Sports Awards 2025 in Lucknow, highlighting the growing importance of sports in nation-building and recognising athletes for their performances. He credited Narendra Modi for promoting a strong sports culture across India, adding that Uttar Pradesh has expanded these efforts since 2017. The Chief Minister outlined initiatives such as ensuring playgrounds in over 57,000 villages, developing mini stadiums at the block level, and large stadiums at the district level. He also noted that the Major Dhyan Chand Sports University is now operational, strengthening support for athletes and sports development.
