After Saswata Chatterjee, Saurav Das Distances Himself From The Bengal Files; Accuses Makers
Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film The Bengal Files has been making headlines well before its release. While its subject matter has already sparked conversation, the project is now mired in fresh controversy as several of its actors appear to be distancing themselves from the film.
Following veteran Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee, actor Saurav Das has also spoken out against the makers, alleging that many details were deliberately kept from him and that he was never given access to the complete script.
He clarified that he was only informed about his own character and stressed that he is not, in any way, a supporter of Nazi ideology.

Interestingly, Saurav portrays the role of Gopal Patha in the film, a butcher by profession, who is remembered for saving thousands of lives during the riots.
His comments have added further fuel to the controversy, raising questions about the transparency of the filmmakers and the way the project has been handled.
What Are People Saying About Saurav’s Statement? Now one more actor Saurav Das, who is playing the role of Gopal mukherjee aka Gopal Patha in that propaganda files film has distanced him from the film saying that he was not actually aware of the entire script, he was only aware of his character and he is not a Nazi supporter!!! pic.twitter.com/eLDRDno3Xs

A majority of users are saying that Saurav is saying all these things because he has to work in Bengal and the government is clearly not happy with this film.
One user commented, “They have to stay in West Bengal and also earn in West Bengal ... which has turned into a personal fiefdom of one person ... And cadres posting this as something great ... Expected the lack of grey matter in such individuals …”

Another user commented, “Utter bulls**t. Extremely poor coverup by both him and Saswata. They know they are on the wrong side of history and have facilitated a big*t like Vivek Agnihotri hence all this damage control.”

One user reacted, “Actor Saurav Das knows that he stays in Kolkata & he needs to work in Tollywood industry to earn his living. Careers of actors are at stake too.”

Careers of actors are at stake too.
Another user reacted, “People are so scared of Mamata Banerjee and her Gunda Raj. It is so evident now that all the Bengali actors are trying to save their lives after acting in the movie which is most probably going to be banned by the WB government.”
