Do gas e-KYC from home in 2 minutes, no need to stand in line, online process is also easy
Are you experiencing problems booking gas or has your subsidy stopped? The main reason could be your pending e-KYC. Now there's no need to repeatedly visit the gas agency. With a new feature launched by the central government, you can complete verification by scanning your face with your smartphone. Let's learn more about this easy online process.
What is required for online E-KYC?
First of all, you must have your 12-digit Aadhaar number ready.
The mobile number linked to Aadhaar should be active, on which OTP will be received.
A phone with a good quality camera and an internet connection is required.
Step-by-step online process of face authentication:
To do this, first install the 'Aadhaar FaceRD' app from the Google Play Store and your gas company's app (e.g. Indian Oil One, HelloBPCL, HP Pay). Register by entering your mobile number on the gas company's app and go to the 'Re-KYC' option.
Keep your face straight and when the camera opens, the app will automatically match your face with the Aadhaar data by blinking your eyes.
What are the main advantages of this technology?
E-KYC can be completed from any corner of the house in just 2 minutes.
With biometric verification, no other person can take your subsidy.
Elderly or sick people will no longer have to endure the physical fatigue of going to the agency.
What to do if the online process is not done?
If the app is not working or you are facing problem in doing E-KYC, then you can also do KYC by going to the gas agency.
Keep a photocopy of your Aadhaar card and Gas Customer Diary (Passbook) with you.
For any technical issue, you can get help by calling the toll-free number of your gas company.
If you're experiencing problems booking gas, incomplete e-KYC may be the main reason. Gas companies have now made it possible for customers to complete their KYC from home using face authentication. You'll need your Aadhaar card number, the mobile number linked to your gas connection, and the AadhaarFaceRd app on your smartphone.
