Prime Minister Modi Honors Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on His Birth Anniversary
New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his admiration for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Thursday, highlighting him as a visionary leader, exceptional administrator, and strategic thinker whose courage and governance continue to inspire many.
Born on February 19, 1630, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was instrumental in establishing the Maratha Empire during the 17th century.
In a post on the social media platform 'X', Modi stated, “On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth anniversary, we pay tribute to this visionary leader, remarkable administrator, strategic thinker, and advocate of self-rule. May his bravery inspire us, his governance guide us, and his spirit of justice and dignity strengthen our society.”
He further remarked, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj always prioritized the welfare of the people and dedicated himself to their safety, making his life a guiding light for India even today.” Shivaji was a staunch opponent of the Mughal dynasty, and his administration was founded on principles of religious tolerance and the unification of diverse communities.
