Akshaya Tritiya 2026: The auspicious festival of Akshaya Tritiya will be celebrated across the country on April 19, 2026. This day falls on the *Tritiya* (third) *Tithi* of the *Shukla Paksha* (waxing phase of the moon) in the month of *Vaishakh*, and it is regarded as an *Abujh Muhurat* (an inherently auspicious time). Simply put, it is a day when all auspicious activities can be undertaken without the need to consult a specific *Muhurat* (auspicious timing).

A significant aspect of this day is that purchasing gold, silver, material goods, and other items on this *Tithi* brings about positive changes in one's life. Furthermore, it leads to an increase in wealth and prosperity within the home. According to the scriptures, performing the *Lakshmi Puja* (worship of Goddess Lakshmi) on Akshaya Tritiya with proper rituals and devotion pleases the Goddess, and she fulfills the devotee's wishes. Therefore, let us explore the worship procedure for this special day.

**Worship Procedure**

On Akshaya Tritiya, specifically wear garments of red or yellow color.
Spread a red or yellow cloth over a *Chowki* (low stool) in your home temple or designated worship area.
Install the idols or images of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.
Perform the *Abhishek* (ritual bathing) of the deities using holy Ganges water (*Gangajal*).

Now, offer *Roli* (sacred red powder), sandalwood paste (*Chandan*), and unbroken rice grains (*Akshat*) to the Lord and the Goddess.

During this process, also adorn them with floral garlands; this is considered highly auspicious.
During the worship, chant the mantras "Om Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah" and "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya."
