Bengaluru traffic police book 730 drink-and-drive cases in special drive

Bengaluru: City traffic police have registered 730 cases of drunk driving as part of a special enforcement drive conducted against traffic violations.

The operation was carried out between March 9 and 15 across 53 traffic police station limits in the city. During the drive, officials inspected a total of 50,760 vehicles.

In addition to drunk driving cases, police also took action against overspeeding. A total of 271 cases were registered for speeding violations, and fines amounting to Rs 2.75 lakh were collected, officials said.
