Biggest Box Office Disaster! Anthony Mackie's Rs 1400 Cr Film Crashes With Just Rs 4.6 Cr Biz
Known for playing Sam Wilson aka Falcon and later, Captain America in Marvel Cinematic Universe, Anthony Mackie is in the news for wrong reasons.
The Hollywood actor recently starred in a big budget Saudi Arabian historical epic titled Desert Warrior and the movie released in theatres in the US on April 26, 2026. But the response from the critics and the audience was terrible.
The movie directed by Rupert Wyatt of Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) fame was made a massive budget of $150 million (roughly Rs 1400 crore) and has only collected $488K (roughly Rs 4.5 crore) in its opening weekend.
This makes Desert Warrior one of the biggest box office disasters of all time.
Reacting to the disastrous opening weekend of Desert Warrior,
one social media user wrote, “Didn't even hear about it. A movie not even earning 1% of its budget back is so hard to do that it almost has to be on purpose.”Another user reacted, “We’ve gone global in the ugliest way possible! The local “entertainment” scene just doesn’t cut it with the global market—awareness levels there are high, and they expose shoddy work. From the very first moment they announced the project, I knew it was doomed to fail; the warning signs were crystal clear. The disaster isn’t the box office flop—that’s to be expected— the real disaster is that you couldn’t even attract your local audience!”
A third user wrote, “I’ve never heard of this movie, I didn’t know it existed until right now. Clearly none of that $150m budget was spent on marketing”.

Como pode ninguém nem ter ouvido falar desse filme de 150 milhões de dólares? O filme não fez nem meio milhão de bilheteria
