CM Fellowship Scheme: In a significant initiative to connect the youth of Bihar with governance and policy-making, IIM Bodh Gaya, in collaboration with the Government of Bihar, has announced the Chief Minister Fellowship Scheme (CMFS). This scheme is a golden opportunity for talented young individuals who wish to gain administrative experience and develop an understanding of high-level management and public policy. Under this two-year fellowship, selected candidates will not only receive academic guidance from IIM Bodh Gaya but will also gain direct work experience in key departments of the state government.

Objectives of the Chief Minister Fellowship Scheme

This two-year program provides work experience in various ministries and key offices of the Government of Bihar. Selected fellows will receive rigorous training, both classroom-based and field-based, under the guidance of experienced faculty at IIM Bodh Gaya.

During this period, fellows will be directly involved in important tasks related to policy formulation, scheme implementation, and administrative reforms. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a Postgraduate Certificate in Public Policy and Good Governance from IIM Bodh Gaya, which will give a new direction to their careers.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for this scheme must be residents of Bihar. They must also possess a work experience certificate from the Government of Bihar and a postgraduate degree in Management, Policy, Development, Public Administration, Regional Planning, Science and Technology, or a related field from a reputed institution. A valid score in CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE, UGC-NET, or CSIR-NET is mandatory for candidates, although those with postgraduate degrees from INIs, Central Universities, and National Law Universities are exempted.

Stipend Details

Under the fellowship, an attractive annual stipend will be provided based on experience. Those working in the Chief Minister's and Deputy Chief Minister's offices will receive the highest stipend, while competitive packages are also offered in other departments. Reservation benefits will be provided as per the rules of the state government.

Selection Process

The selection process will be conducted in multiple stages. Application deadlines and interviews are scheduled in different cycles between December 2025 and February 2026. Interested candidates can apply in time to take advantage of this prestigious scheme.
