There's significant news for domestic and commercial consumers. The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Bill Relief Scheme 2025–26 came into effect on December 1st. This scheme will run from December 1st, 2025, to February 28th, 2026. This year, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has decided to provide record-breaking relief to consumers. For the first time, the scheme includes a 100% interest waiver and a substantial principal rebate.

The first phase will run from December 1st to December 31st. Consumers making a one-time payment during this period will benefit the most. They will receive a full interest waiver and a principal rebate of up to 25%. The department has stated that such relief will not be available frequently, so consumers should register as soon as possible.

The process to avail the scheme benefits has been simplified. Consumers can now register through www.uppcl.org, the Consumer App, Public Service Centers, department offices, or their meter readers. On the very first day, a large number of consumers registered and received significant relief.

1. First Consumer
Total outstanding: ₹91,994
Total rebate: ₹49,471
Final payment: ₹42,523
Interest waiver benefit: ₹35,293

2. Second Consumer
Total outstanding: Over ₹1,00,000
Total benefit: Relief of approximately ₹60,000

On the very first day of the scheme, these two consumers received a combined relief of approximately ₹1.1 lakh on outstanding dues of over ₹1 lakh. If you also have old electricity bills, you can also receive significant relief by registering for this scheme.
