Keep these things in mind before playing Holi.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, the use of chemical colors can cause skin irritation, allergies, eye irritation, and stomach problems. Heavy eating can also lead to various health problems, including indigestion. According to Ayurveda, adopting natural methods can make the festival completely safe and enjoyable.

Choose natural and homemade colors.

Chemical colors can be harmful to the skin and can sometimes cause allergies or infections. Instead, use gram flour, turmeric, gulal, flower colors (such as rose, hibiscus, and hibiscus), and herbal powders. These natural colors are not only safe but also nourish the skin. Turmeric has anti-bacterial properties, which keep the skin healthy.

Oil the body and hair: Before playing Holi, apply coconut oil or sesame oil liberally to the skin and hair. A thin layer of oil prevents the colors from penetrating deep into the skin, allowing them to wash off easily. This prevents dryness and irritation, as well as itching. Applying oil to the hair prevents the colors from reaching the roots.

Eat a balanced and light diet.

Avoid fried, spicy, and heavy foods on Holi. Excessively sweet, oily, and creamy foods can cause stomach upset. Instead, eat seasonal fruits, coconut water, lemonade, buttermilk, herbal juices, and light, sattvic foods. This will keep the body light and prevent fatigue.

Drink plenty of water and healthy drinks.
The body sweats profusely during Holi, so drink plenty of water throughout the day to avoid dehydration. Lemonade, coconut water, or mint sherbet are best. It keeps the body hydrated, reduces the effects of colors, and also maintains healthy skin.

Special Eye and Skin Protection
Colors entering the eyes can cause irritation and infection. Wear goggles or keep your eyes tightly closed while playing. Immediately wash your face and body with clean, cold water after playing. Rinse your eyes several times with clean water. If you get any color on your eyes, clean them with rose water or plain water.

In addition to these simple measures, enjoy Holi, but avoid adulterated and unhygienic food. Buy only from trusted stores, and always check the expiration date on packaged items. Avoid open, fried, or artificially colored foods.
