Newspoint

Hyundai Motor India has revised the pricing of its premium hatchback, the i20, making the model more affordable across select variants. Following the latest price cut, the i20 now starts at ₹5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), strengthening its competitiveness in the premium hatchback segment dominated by rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Tata Altroz. Notably, Hyundai has retained the car’s features and safety equipment despite the reduction.

The biggest gain from the revision is seen in the i20 Era

Hero Image
, which has now been positioned as the entry-level variant. Despite its lower price point, the Era trim offers a comprehensive safety package, including six airbags, along with a digital instrument cluster, body-coloured ORVMs and door handles, front and rear skid plates, a Type-C USB charger, and tilt and telescopic steering, ensuring a premium feel even at the base level.

Sunroof Variants See Price Revision

and Magna variants, now priced at ₹6.74 lakh and ₹6.99 lakh respectively (ex-showroom).

The Magna Executive variant comes equipped with features such as TPMS, automatic headlamps, keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering-mounted audio and Bluetooth controls, a shark fin antenna, and a digital instrument cluster.

The higher Magna variant

, positioned for buyers seeking additional comfort and premium features, offers an electric sunroof, LED DRLs, rear AC vents, and a front armrest with storage, making it one of the most affordable sunroof-equipped cars in its segment.

Dealer-Level Infotainment Upgrade

Hyundai is also offering an optional 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system through its dealerships. Priced at ₹14,999

, the system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, includes a rear camera, and comes with a three-year warranty.

Engine and Warranty

Mechanically, the i20 continues with the 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 83 bhp and 114.7 Nm of torque, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The engine is equipped with an integrated starter generator

to improve fuel efficiency. Hyundai continues to offer a standard warranty of three years or 1,00,000 km, reinforcing customer confidence.
