IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings spent ₹41 crore to acquire nine players in the mini-auction for IPL 2026. CSK placed the highest bids for Prashanth Veer and Kartik Sharma in the mini-auction.

IPL 2026 Mini Action: The mini auction for the 2026 Indian Premier League concluded on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings were at the auction table with the second-highest purse. Chennai had ₹43.40 crore (43.40 crore rupees) at their disposal. CSK bid on a total of 16 players, but only nine were acquired. In the mini auction held in Abu Dhabi, CSK placed the highest bids for Prashanth Veer and Kartik Sharma, both uncapped players, for ₹14.20 crore (14.20 crore rupees). Chennai also placed a significant bid on Cameron Green. CSK, along with Kolkata Knight Riders, bid up to ₹25 crore (25.20 crore rupees), but ultimately, KKR prevailed, acquiring Green for ₹25.20 crore (25.20 crore rupees).

CSK's squad for IPL 2026 had a total of nine player slots available, including five for Indian players and four for foreign players. CSK added Matt Henry, Akil Hussain, Matthew Short, and Zacchary Foulkes as foreign players. CSK added five Indian players: Prashant Veer, Kartik Sharma, Sarfaraz Khan, Rahul Chahar, and Aman Khan. In the mini-auction, CSK spent a total of ₹41 crore (approximately $4.1 billion) to acquire these nine players. This left Chennai with a purse of ₹2.40 crore (approximately $2.4 billion).
