Karkala: Elderly man rescued after falling into 30-foot-deep well

An elderly man suffering from paralysis was rescued after he accidentally fell into a well about 30 feet deep at Devaragudde Nekre in Karkala taluk on Thursday (January 8).

The rescued person has been identified as Chandu Parava. Following the incident, personnel from the Karkala fire and emergency services rushed to the spot and carried out a challenging rescue operation.

The operation was led by Karkala Fire Station Officer Chandrashekar. Fire personnel Hariprasad, Mujambil, Dinesh and Ganesh took part in the rescue and safely pulled the elderly man out of the well.

The timely intervention of the fire and emergency services helped prevent a major mishap.
