Home delivery systems in rural areas have also been disrupted. Consumers are facing significant difficulties due to the unavailability of gas in many villages. The gas shortage is also disrupting cooking in many homes. The changes in rules and the reduced supply have led to daily chaos at gas agencies.

Consumers, including Kamlesh Singh and Munna Prasad of Fulwaria, Meena Devi and Nikki Devi of Bairagi Tola, and others, say that the wedding season is currently underway, which has led to an increase in gas consumption. Meanwhile, agencies are unable to supply cylinders as needed, causing significant difficulties for the public.

According to the Fulwaria gas distribution agency, previously, consumers were often provided gas without booking, and could receive a second cylinder after 21 days. However, the department has now changed the rules.

Under the new rules, booking is now mandatory, and once a cylinder is purchased, a second cylinder will not be available within 25 days. Furthermore, a mobile OTP system has been implemented to make the gas distribution process transparent.

Cylinders are now delivered only after consumers provide the OTP received on their mobile phone. However, consumers are currently facing some difficulties following the implementation of the new rules. The situation is expected to improve in the coming days.
