Middle East flight status today: IndiGo, Air India, British Airways and other airlines adjust flight schedules as Gulf crisis deepens
Airlines including Air India, IndiGo, Qatar Airways, British Airways and Etihad Airways have issued travel advisories and updated schedules as tensions in West Asia continue to disrupt aviation operations. Carriers are running limited flights, revising routes and asking passengers to check their flight status as airspace restrictions and safety concerns affect services across the region.

Airlines said the evolving geopolitical situation in the Gulf has disrupted airspace operations and pushed up jet fuel prices. Carriers are adjusting networks, introducing surcharges and offering travel flexibility for affected passengers.

Air India to run 58 flights to West Asia
Air India said it will operate a total of 58 scheduled and non-scheduled flights to and from the West Asia region on March 11.
“Air India and Air India Express will together operate a total of 58 scheduled and non-scheduled flights to and from the West Asia region on 11 March 2026,” the airline said.
Earlier, the airline group also announced expanded fuel surcharges on domestic and international routes due to the sharp rise in jet fuel prices linked to the geopolitical situation in the Gulf region. The revised surcharge will also apply to Air India Express flights and will be introduced in phases starting March 12.
IndiGo gradually restoring services
IndiGo said it is working with authorities to gradually rebuild its flight network in the Middle East.
“IndiGo is working closely with the relevant authorities to gradually rebuild its flight network in Middle East, enabling customers to reunite with their loved ones and continue their journeys,” the airline said.

The carrier plans to operate flights to eight destinations across the Middle East on March 11, along with select routes to Europe, subject to safety conditions and regulatory approvals. It warned that schedules may change at short notice and asked passengers to check flight status before travelling.
Qatar Airways running limited flights
Qatar Airways said it is operating a limited schedule after the temporary closure of Qatari airspace disrupted flights.
“With Qatar Airways flights still temporarily suspended due to the closure of Qatari airspace, we are doing everything possible to support affected passengers and help reunite them with family and loved ones,” the airline said.
The airline added that selected flights may operate under temporary authorisation from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority but these do not represent the full resumption of scheduled commercial operations.
Passengers with confirmed bookings between February 28 and March 22, 2026 can opt for two complimentary date changes or a refund of the unused ticket value.
British Airways suspends Abu Dhabi flights
British Airways said it has suspended flights to Abu Dhabi until the end of the year due to continuing uncertainty in Middle East airspace.
“Due to the continuing uncertainty of the situation in the Middle East and airspace instability, we’ve had to temporarily reduce our flying schedule in the region,” the airline said in a statement posted on X.
The airline added that all flights to and from Amman, Manama, Doha, Dubai and Tel Aviv have been cancelled until later this month.
“We’re keeping the situation under constant review and are in touch with our customers to offer them a range of options,” the airline said.
The suspension comes amid heightened security concerns in the United Arab Emirates after Iranian missile strikes reportedly targeted airports, tourist locations, the U.S. consulate and other major hubs in the country.
Authorities at Zayed International Airport advised passengers not to travel to the airport unless instructed by their airline.
“Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport unless they hold a confirmed ticket and have been explicitly advised by their airline to do so,” the airport said, adding that “Access to the airport will be restricted to confirmed travelers only.”
Etihad shares updated departures
Etihad Airways also released an updated flight schedule from Abu Dhabi for March 12. The departures include destinations such as Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, London, New York and Paris.
Airlines across the region said the situation remains fluid and urged travellers to rely only on official airline channels for updates and avoid suspicious links or messages related to flight changes.
