The most notable update is the direct link between children’s performance and nutrition status and the financial assistance provided to their mothers. Along with this, the government has also relaxed the income limit, making the scheme accessible to a wider section of society.

Officials believe that widening the income criteria will ensure that deserving families are not left out due to marginal income differences.
Scheme Divided Into Three CategoriesTo make the scheme more inclusive and targeted, the government has divided the Lado Lakshmi Yojana into three distinct categories

First Category: Mothers of children studying in government schools who secure 80% or more marks in Class 10 or 12.

Second Category: Mothers of children who achieve grade-level proficiency in Classes 1 to 4 under central government education missions.

Third Category: Mothers of children registered on the nutrition tracker who were earlier malnourished or suffering from anemia but have now moved into the green zone after nutritional improvement.
This categorization ensures that the scheme supports not just academic excellence but also early learning outcomes and child nutrition, making it a holistic welfare initiative.
₹2,100 Assistance to Be Split Into Two PartsThe financial assistance under the scheme, amounting to ₹2,100, will now be disbursed in two stages. Of this, ₹1,100 will be transferred directly
This fixed deposit cannot be withdrawn for at least five years, ensuring long-term financial security. In the unfortunate event of the woman’s untimely death, the nominee will receive the FD amount immediately.
According to government data, around 10.25 lakh women have applied
Alongside the Lado Lakshmi Yojana update, the Cabinet also approved a long-pending decision affecting 347 senior Haryana Roadways drivers
They will be brought under the Old Pension Scheme, making them eligible for arrears, family pension benefits, and General Provident Fund (GPF) facilities. This decision is being seen as a major relief for employees who had waited more than two decades for service regularization.
The Haryana Cabinet also cleared several other welfare-oriented decisions, including land allocation for a cowshed in Panchkula, changes to the HSIIDC land policy, and providing employment to a victim’s wife on humanitarian grounds in a special case.
