NDA Poised for Strong Majority in Assam According to Latest Exit Polls
According to the latest exit polls for the 2026 assembly elections, the NDA, led by the BJP, is set to maintain a comfortable majority in Assam. The polls predict a decisive lead for the ruling coalition in both seat count and vote share. Out of 126 assembly seats, the NDA is expected to secure between 88 and 100 seats, significantly surpassing the majority threshold. The BJP alone is projected to win 70 to 80 seats, reaffirming its dominance in the state's political landscape. Its allies, the Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) and the Bodoland People's Front (BPF), are likely to capture an additional 16 to 20 seats, further strengthening the coalition's overall seat count.
Exit polls are based on surveys conducted among voters as they leave polling stations. Their primary aim is to gauge the mood of the electorate, although these predictions can sometimes be inaccurate. Comparatively, the Congress-led alliance (Cong+) is estimated to win between 24 and 36 seats, indicating a slight improvement in the opposition's standing, yet they remain far from posing a serious challenge to the NDA.

The exit polls also reveal that the NDA holds a clear advantage in vote share. The coalition is projected to receive approximately 48 percent of the votes, while the Congress-led alliance is expected to garner around 38 percent, highlighting a significant gap in voter support. The BJP's individual vote share stands at about 37 percent, underscoring its central role within the coalition.
