No Lumps, No Runniness: Note Down This Recipe to Make Chilled Mango Custard This Summer..
It simply wouldn't be summer without a conversation about juicy mangoes! In the scorching heat and humid weather, when you crave something cool and sweet, what could be better than Mango Custard? Not only is it easy to prepare, but it is also a favorite among everyone, from children to adults.
People often complain that their homemade custard turns out either too runny or lumpy; however, there is no need to worry. Today, we bring you a perfect recipe that will ensure your Mango Custard turns out just like the store-bought version—thick, creamy, and velvety smooth.
**Ingredients for Mango Custard**
Milk: 500 ml (Full-cream milk is recommended for best results)
Sugar: ½ cup (Adjust to taste)
Custard Powder: 2 tablespoons
Ripe Mango Pulp: 1 cup
Finely Chopped Mango Pieces: For garnish
Dry Fruits: Cashews, almonds, and pistachios (Optional)
**Method for Preparing Mango Custard**
First, pour the milk into a heavy-bottomed pan and place it on a low flame to boil. Once the milk comes to a boil, add the sugar and stir continuously until the sugar has completely dissolved.
Lumps typically form in custard when the powder is added directly into hot milk. Instead, take a small bowl, pour in a little cold milk, add the 2 tablespoons of custard powder, and mix thoroughly. Ensure that there are absolutely no lumps remaining in this mixture.
Now, slowly pour the prepared custard mixture into the boiling milk. Pour the mixture with one hand while continuously stirring the milk with the other. Cook this on a low flame for 3–4 minutes. You will notice the milk beginning to thicken. Once it has thickened to the desired consistency, turn off the stove and allow the mixture to cool down completely.
Once the custard mixture has reached room temperature, stir in the mango pulp. Keep in mind not to add the mango pulp to hot custard, as this could spoil the flavor. Now, whisk it thoroughly until the mango and custard are completely blended together.
**3 Tips to Enhance the Flavor**
**Perfect Serving:** Refrigerate the custard for at least 2–3 hours. Its flavor becomes doubly delicious once it has chilled.
**Garnishing:** When serving, top it with chopped mango pieces, pomegranate seeds, and dry fruits. It will be just as delightfully crunchy to eat as it is beautiful to look at.
**Consistency:** If the custard becomes too thick, you can adjust it by stirring in a little cold milk.
