Pedro Porro gives honest answer on his Tottenham future as 'big club' claim made
Pedro Porro has provided an update on his future at Tottenham Hotspur. The 26-year-old defender, who still has two years remaining on his contract, has been thinly linked with a move away from the Lilywhites lately as they battle for survival in the Premier League.
Spurs initially signed Porro on loan from Sporting CP in January 2023 before activating the obligation to buy clause, which was worth about £40million, at the end of the season. The Spain international has since established himself as a key player for the north London outfit, chalking up nearly 150 appearances.
With Tottenham in danger of relegation from the English top-flight, clubs have reportedly began to monitor his situation. According to Spanish newspaper AS, as quoted by Sport Witness, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are all keeping tabs on Porro.

During an interview with the outlet ahead of Wednesday night's clash against Diego Simeone's side in the UEFA Champions League, the Spaniard was quizzed on his future. Rather than fan the flames, Porro squashed speculation of a move away.

"Right now, I’m not thinking about returning (to Spain)," said the Spurs defender. "I’m focused on getting through this, on getting out of it somehow.
"When you’re young, you dream about the biggest clubs. I’m at one, even though things aren’t going well for us. I’d like to return to Spain someday, also for my family. I hope the door is always open."
Porro insisted that he was 'very happy and very settled' at Tottenham back in October 2025. Speaking to Infobae while on international duty, the right-back claimed Thomas Frank, who was later sacked, was 'doing a magnificent job'.
As quoted by the Evening Standard, Porro said: "The truth is, I’m very happy and very settled at Tottenham. The start of the season has been very good. It’s a shame we lost the Super Cup final on penalties against Paris Saint-Germain.
"After going 2-0 up, you have to win that title, but for me, they’re one of the best clubs in the world. If you’re not focused for the full 90 minutes, that’s what happens."
On his development at Tottenham, Porro added: "Nowadays, you have to be important in both roles. I like reading comments, and several years ago I was very involved defensively, trying to be a little more involved and see what I can do because then in attack, I have that self-confidence that’s also required of a full-back when they reach the deep areas.
"In defence, you have to be consistent, and in attack, you also have that support for your team-mates when they need it."
