When did you meet?
During the Pyaar Ki Adaalat interview, the two shared their fascinating love story. They met during the COVID-19 lockdown. Priya's sister had a clothing business at the time, and some friends introduced Rinku to her for promotion. That's where they began talking. They became friends, and gradually, their relationship blossomed into love. Priya jokingly recounted that she fell in love with Rinku at first sight, even liking his Instagram post. Rinku laughs, saying that even though Priya had started to like him, he was the first to send her a "hi" message. Their first meeting was also quite fun. Rinku arrived nearly four hours late, prompting Priya to scold him. Recalling that meeting, Rinku says that Priya looked stunning in a long dress, while he arrived in simple shorts.
Who proposed?
However, the beginning wasn't easy. Rinku said he fell in love with Priya at first sight and even proposed to her, but Priya's father was initially reluctant. Priya's father, a three-time Member of Parliament, wanted his daughter to marry an IAS officer. So, the couple waited for about three years. During this time, Rinku focused on his cricket career, while Priya continued her studies to fulfill her dream of becoming a judge. Both say their interactions were very limited at that time. They didn't go on dates alone and would only meet with family every three to four months. Things changed in 2022. Priya's brother called Rinku and asked if he wanted to marry her. Rinku immediately said "yes" without hesitation.
Wedding in June
After receiving family consent, the couple got engaged in Lucknow on June 8, 2025. Their wedding was originally scheduled for November 2025 in Varanasi, but had to be postponed due to the cricket series. Later, a date was set for February 2026, but that too was postponed due to the T20 World Cup and the IPL. Now, reports suggest that the wedding will take place in Varanasi in June 2026, after the IPL, and the reception in Aligarh.
