Rowdy sheeter hacked to death in front of mother in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: A 28-year-old rowdy sheeter was brutally murdered by a group of assailants in front of his mother in Sampigehalli police station limits on February 25 night.
The victim has been identified as Pavan Kumar, a rowdy sheeter at DJ Halli police station. The incident took place around 9 pm at Amarajyothi Layout in Thanisandra.
According to police sources, five to six men wearing helmets followed Pavan Kumar on three motorcycles.
Police said the victim’s mother cried for help while the attack was taking place, but the assailants continued the assault and fled after the murder.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast Division) Mithun Kumar said the accused had chased the victim and attacked him from behind when he stopped his vehicle near his house.
Police further said Pavan Kumar was the fifth accused in the 2023 murder case of a man named Kapil in the city and had been jailed in connection with the case. He was released from prison in May 2025. About one-and-a-half months ago, his family had reportedly set up a bakery near their house in an effort to help him lead a normal life.
Further investigation is in progress.
