A Life-Altering Diagnosis at 22
According to Kanika Tekriwal’s interview with Outlook Business, her professional journey had barely begun when fate intervened. Having just returned to India after completing her MBA in the United Kingdom, she was preparing to establish her own venture when she was diagnosed with stage-2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 22. The diagnosis marked a sudden halt to her plans, forcing her to shift focus from ambition to survival. After undergoing treatment, she emerged stronger, driven by renewed determination to reclaim control of her life.

Defying Doubt to Build JetSetGo
Despite her recovery, Tekriwal faced resistance at home. Her parents, deeply concerned after her illness, opposed her decision to relocate to Delhi and launch a startup in a high-risk industry. However, Tekriwal chose conviction over comfort. As reported by Outlook Business, she moved to the capital against her family’s wishes and formally launched JetSetGo in 2014. Initially, she lived with a friend, hesitant about staying alone in an unfamiliar city, but her resolve never wavered. Her peers stood firmly by her side, encouraging her dream of creating an Uber-like model for private aviation.

Redefining Private Aviation in India
Today, JetSetGo operates as a full-service aviation solutions company based in Delhi. The firm manages and operates aircraft for commercial owners, facilitates private jet and helicopter charters, arranges flight schedules, and supplies aviation services and components. JetSetGo became India’s first organised provider of private jet and helicopter charters, a milestone that earned Tekriwal national recognition. As per the Hurun List, she was named India’s youngest self-made woman entrepreneur. She currently owns a fleet of ten private jets and has amassed a net worth estimated at Rs 420 crore.

Entering the Shark Tank Spotlight
Kanika Tekriwal will now bring her expertise to television as a judge on Shark Tank India Season 5. The business reality show premieres on Sony TV and Sony Liv, airing weeknights from Monday to Friday at 8 pm, beginning tonight.
