'Such incidents happen as hate is spreading' Farooq Abdullah on attack on him

Srinagar: Former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah, who survived an assassination attempt in Jammu, said such incidents were happening because of the hate being spread around. While interacting with the media in Jammu, he said Union home minister Amit Shah contacted him on Wednesday night and assured a proper inquiry into the incident.

"I was leaving the marriage venue when I felt something on my neck and heard at least two shots... I was swiftly moved from the spot... There was no presence of local police personnel. Only the personal security for me and the Dy CM... Local police should have been there as many VIPs were present at the venue," Abdullah said.
