Following the rollout of GST 2.0, several car manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, and Kia have slashed prices across their product lineups in India. This includes popular hatchbacks, sedans, compact SUVs, and mid-size SUVs. If you are planning to buy a new car, here’s a rundown of the top five compact SUVs that have seen significant price reductions due to the revised GST rates.

Maruti Brezza
The Maruti Brezza, measuring under 4 meters, is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine. Previously priced between ₹8.69 lakh and ₹13.98 lakh (ex-showroom) under the 45% GST slab, its price is now expected to drop by ₹30,000 to ₹48,000 depending on the variant. Post-GST revision, the Brezza’s price range is likely to be ₹8.39 lakh to ₹13.50 lakh.

Hyundai Venue
The Hyundai Venue has benefited the most from the GST 2.0 reduction, with prices falling by as much as ₹1.32 lakh. Both petrol (1.0 and 1.2 liters) and diesel (1.5 liters) variants now attract 18% GST, down from around 29-31%. Previously priced between ₹7.94 lakh and ₹13.38 lakh, the Venue will now be available between ₹7.26 lakh and ₹12.05 lakh. The top-end diesel variant’s price has dropped by ₹1.32 lakh, while the base variant is cheaper by ₹68,000.

Kia Sonet
Much like the Hyundai Venue, the Kia Sonet has seen a price cut of up to ₹1.64 lakh under the new GST regime. With the petrol and diesel versions now falling under the 18% GST slab instead of 29-31%, prices for the Sonet, which started at ₹8 lakh and went up to ₹15.74 lakh for the GTX Plus DT diesel-automatic variant, have been revised to a range of ₹7.30 lakh to ₹14.10 lakh.

Tata Nexon
Tata Motors has announced a price reduction of up to ₹1.55 lakh for the Nexon compact SUV effective from September 22. The petrol and diesel variants, which previously faced GST rates of 29% and 31%, will now uniformly attract 18% GST. This revision brings the Nexon into the more affordable bracket alongside its competitors.

Mahindra XUV 3XO
Mahindra is the only automaker that implemented the GST 2.0 benefits early, starting from September 6. The sub-4m XUV 3XO saw its petrol and diesel variants' prices reduced by ₹1.40 lakh and ₹1.56 lakh respectively. With the GST rate lowered from 29-31% to 18%, prices have dropped from a range of ₹7.99 lakh – ₹15.80 lakh to ₹7.28 lakh – ₹14.40 lakh, offering savings between ₹71,000 and ₹1.56 lakh depending on the variant.
