Trinamool plans to bring motion to remove CEC Gyanesh Kumar
New Delhi: The Trinamool Congress plans to bring a motion to remove Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar during the ongoing second part of the budget session of Parliament, sources said. Kumar is on an official visit to West Bengal, and the Trinamool has accused him of disrespecting women and shouting at a party delegation that met him and the two election commissioners in Kolkata on Monday.

Trinamool supremo and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly raised objections over the way the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was being conducted in the state. Last month, Banerjee had met the CEC and other poll officials in Delhi, along with a few voters whose names have been deleted in the revision exercise.
Trinamool MP Shatabdi Roy also discussed the motion of removal of Gyanesh Kumar at the INDIA bloc leaders meeting on Monday morning and sought support from other Opposition parties. The Trinamool Congress plans to submit the motion in the Rajya Sabha along with several other Opposition parties.
