Varun Dhawan Reveals He Was 'Lower-Middle Class' Before David Dhawan's Career Took Off
Everyone knew David Dhawan before they knew Varun Dhawan. Though fans may see him as a nepo kid who has potential, people see his life to be one of privilege and advantage.
The actor, whose latest film, Border 2, got a somewhat positive response, doesn't think that he's lived a fully privileged life. In fact, according to him, he's seen ample hardships before the filmmaker’s career took off.

Varun Dhawan opened up about how his father wasn't around much for his childhood because he was working day and night.

He and his entire family had to cut down on expenses and whatnot because back then, Dhawan’s career hadn't lifted off. He was still struggling to make a place in Bollywood and it was going to take time for him to earn with his craft.

He would have to do whatever his mother told him to, adjusting to the financial struggles as his father worked hard to make a name for himself. Gradually they saw prosperity and now we see the father and son duo being iconic with their films.
