'We Needed More Time' Aamir Khan Explains 39-Day Advance Booking Strategy For Ek Din
Sai Pallavi is all set to make her Bollywood debut ahead of her appearance as Sita in Ramayana. Sai is making her debut alongside Junaid Khan in Ek Din, an official remake of 2016 Thai film One Day. While the film is a few days away from release, the advance booking began 39 days before the film's release. This is unusual for a Bollywood film, as advance bookings are opened a few days before the film's release. Now, in a recent interview, Aamir Khan has revealed the reason for this different approach.
Why did Ek Din makers open the advanced bookings 39 days before release? In a recent chat with Just Too Filmy
In the same interaction, Aamir revealed that the team does not know if the film will really work in theatres, "He has done such an amazing job. He has worked so hard for the film; he is very persevering. None of us knows whether the film is going to do well, but what is important for me is whether we can bring the script alive in the film. That, for me, is the first yardstick for success. So when I see the film today, I see that Sunil has really managed to bring out what was there in the script, really honestly. Of course, numbers are important to understand the success of the film, but what if a film you don't like does well? I am not happy with that success.”
