West Asia war: Centre doubles LPG supply to commercial users to ease pressure
New Delhi: The Centre has doubled states' LPG allocation for commercial users to 40% of their previous consumption, a move that is expected to partly ease business disruptions of such consumers. The government initially halted LPG supplies to commercial establishments such as restaurants and hotels, instead giving priority to households amid the supply challenges caused by the West Asia conflict. It later partially restored LPG deliveries to commercial users to 20% to meet demand from essential services such as educational institutions and hospitals, which has now been doubled the allocation to 40%.

"This additional 20% allocation shall be given on priority to sectors such as restaurants, dhabas, hotels, industrial canteens, food processing and dairy units, subsidised canteens or outlets run by state governments or local bodies, community kitchens, and 5-kg free trade LPG cylinders for migrant labourers," the government said in a statement.
