Iranian police officer killed; chilling video shows drive-by shooting — video
A police officer named Mahmoud Haghighat” was killed after unknown individuals shot him in the southeastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan on Wednesday.
In the early hours of Wednesday, unknown individuals opened fire on one of the personnel of the Law Enforcement Forces (Police) of Iranshahr County, which led to his death, Mehr News agency reported.

A reportedly chilling footage, surfaced on social media, which is going viral showing a shooter leaning out of a car window, unloading on Haghighat's car until it veers off the road in a dust cloud crash.
Efforts are underway to identify the perpetrator(s) of the heinous crimes committed by some individuals in the southeast province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
This came a day after a senior police officer was killed in clashes with armed protesters in western Iran on Tuesday, according to local media reports.
The semi-official Fars news agency said the officer was wounded by a direct gunshot during protests in the city of Malekshahi, in Iran's western Ilam province, and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
The officer was reportedly shot in the afternoon following a funeral ceremony for two individuals killed in Malekshahi County on Saturday. Local media reported that after the ceremony ended, an angry mob took to the streets, chanting anti-govt slogans, with many carrying weapons. Three other police officers were also injured.
