Israel–US strikes on Iran enter 10th day; death toll crosses 1,500

Tehran: The conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran entered its 10th day on Monday (March 9). The latest phase of fighting began on February 28 when the United States and Israel jointly carried out air strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Israeli forces also launched strong missile and aerial attacks on several key locations in Iran. In response, Iran carried out missile and drone strikes targeting US military bases in the Middle East.

Death toll crosses 1,500

According to reports, more than 1,500 people have been killed so far in the attacks carried out by the United States and Israel on Iran. However, due to strict restrictions on media reporting, official information about casualties in Israel has not been released.

The conflict has also led to large-scale displacement. Reports say more than 100,000 people have been moved to safer locations from Iran, Lebanon and Iraq.

Israeli strike on Beirut

Israeli forces carried out an air strike targeting the capital city of Beirut in Lebanon. According to reports, five senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in the attack.

Meanwhile, the defence ministry of Turkey said that it has deployed F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets and an air defence system to Northern Cyprus.

Reports also said that Abu al-Qasem Baba’iyan, the newly appointed chief of the military office and a senior leader linked to the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters, was killed during the Israeli military operation known as Operation Roaring Lion.
