Saudi authorities are now working to identify the charred bodies and investigate the cause of the crash. Despite the swift response from rescue teams, the intensity of the blaze made recovery operations extremely challenging.

In response to the incident, the Consulate of India in Jeddah has announced the setup of a 24×7 control room. Families and concerned parties can reach the helpline at the toll-free number 8002440003. Officials said the support centre will remain active until every affected family receives assistance.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed deep grief over the tragedy. He said he was “deeply shocked” and confirmed that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah are extending full assistance to the victims and their families. He offered heartfelt condolences to those who lost their loved ones and wished a swift recovery for the injured.

With many families awaiting confirmation and identification, the Indian mission in Saudi Arabia is coordinating closely with local authorities to ensure the repatriation process is smooth and respectful.
