'Sikkim Sundari': Army launches state's first border village community radio

Indian Army 's Trishakti Corps has launched Sikkim's first border village community radio station to improve connectivity in remote areas, officials said.

The Radio 'Sikkim Sundari' aims to boost communication and information access in remote high-altitude border areas, they said. Broadcasting local news, weather updates and govt schemes, it also provides a platform for local culture and youth participation, the Defence PRO said in a statement.

It will also provide an opportunity for the local youth to develop communication skills and contribute to community engagement.
